It might seem furious. It might seem generic. It might be both of these things on the surface… But beneath all of the screaming and raging, there lies a genuine and lighthearted record.

Initial word of advice – prepare for camp, because that’s what you’re getting. It should be obvious by the title, but despite the weight of “Rager Day”, you shouldn’t take it seriously. It’s nothing more than a play on the ridiculous intensity of the modern day banger. And who better to narrate this debauchery than hip hop’s boisterous, Lil Jon?

Presumably the inevitable sequel, or what-comes-after, to LMFAO’s “Shots”, the screaming Lil Jon storms in this time with Mathieu Carmona – a Frenchman christened Freaky Bass. Freaky Bass is a rising talent who has mixed on the side of Swanky Tunes, Quintino, Gregori Klosman, and Crookers, and just released a new track “Go!” with the Dutch trio Dirtycaps.

You wouldn’t expect anything less than intensity from a track called “Rager Day”, but despite this title, the track isn’t only a beast. As fun and outrageous… as it is, a soothing and slightly beautiful melody actually keeps the track sober enough to stay on its feet. And that’s all this campy, party track needs to keep the things interesting. Out now on Dim Mak Records. Download on Beatport and iTunes, and stream below.
