There will be no heartfelt moments for David Guetta – no comforting progression. Flirting with the idea for a while on his “Ten Feet Tall” remix, the EDM popstar ultimately turns his back on Afrojack’s soothing synths and gentle pianos. There’s a party to be had, and David Guetta’s not going to let a sappy progressive house tune get in the way of that.
The remix starts out unassuming enough, taking such a blatant guitar cue from The Red Hot Chili Peppers it’s surprising to hear anyone but Anthony Kiedis on the track (see Wrabel). Any remaining sensitivity ends here though. Off a vocal stutter, David Guetta leaps away from the “Otherside”, through the depths of an electro-tech rave, and lands right in the middle of a grimy dancefloor. It all seems a bit random, but don’t let that stop you. Just turn it up and let go.
